Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These decodable books will give my students opportunities to practice their current phonics skills in a real text! The Fundations decodable books are aligned to the scope and sequence of the reading program I use for reading intervention lessons. Additionally, the beautiful pictures and interesting topics are sure to capture students' attention.

Finding books that are both decodable for early readers and engaging can be a challenge, but these books are both!

As these books are 95% decodable for students, it will also boost their reading confidence since they will be able to read most words independently. Reading is difficult for my students and building their confidence is an important part of their journeys to becoming independent readers. They are so proud when they can read a whole book by themselves! I hope these books will motivate my students to persevere with their reading skills while also encouraging a joy of reading.
