Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My teaching philosophy? Well, an organized student makes for an organized mind, ready to learn and create! I teach special needs students who have difficulty with creating structure and order for themselves. By creating a classroom environment that invites them in, they are set up for a great year!

My students are awesome and challenging at the same time!

Living in a low income neighborhood, my students do not have sufficient funds to buy the supplies needed for school. This is not only their challenge, but mine as well. I do what I can for them; however due to budget constraints, it has been difficult to make sure they have what they need to stay organized and be creative. My students deserve the best education possible without worrying about how they will be able to afford their school supplies.

My Project

By obtaining new school supplies such as binders, dividers, markers glue, pencils, page protectors, and scissors, my students can learn to be organized. This will benefit them not only in their educational career, but in their lives as well! These materials will help them concentrate on what is being taught in ELA, rather than worrying about if they have what they need because YOU will have their proverbial "backs!" By having these basic--yet necessary--supplies, my special needs students will be able to use the pencils, binders, and page protectors to take class notes, write essays, plan projects, and preserve and share ideas with their classmates. With the markers, "crazy" cutting scissors, and glue, they will be able to transform their ideas to actual projects and display them for the school to see and admire! Please help my students!
