Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As part of a school initiative to create more hands on experiences and extra-curricular activities that increase after school presence and participation, we have created a media & production after school program. Students love creating content for different media platforms and what better way for them to learn all about media and film that having the tools to make it for themselves. The goal of the project is not only to expose and increase students growing interest in media and film but also create a in-school space where they can be creative, have fun, and stay out of the streets. Our population is significantly made up of students with special education services and that live assisted facilities. Having a space dedicated to their innovative and creative interests can not only open doors of possibilities for future post-secondary opportunities but a space where they can feel heard and part of something special.
