Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students always have a love of learning. It is my job as a teacher to make sure that they stay motivated and focused to help them become their best selves. I feel that it is important to teach them responsibility, how to be organized and to always come to school prepared. Once they learn this, their pride in themselves shines through and it is such a pleasure to witness.

Unfortunately, many of them come from low-income families with multiple siblings and cannot afford all of the basic supplies that are needed in the classroom.

I would like to do everything I can to help them overcome this.

My Project

I am so honored to have the opportunity to work with and teach ELA to two different classes every year. One of the best parts of the learning day is when they are able to choose their own books from my classroom library and just enjoy reading for a while.

This is important because many of them don’t have easy access to many books.

Although sharing books with my 60+ students is an absolute pleasure, they also get worn very quickly I also have to replace them regularly. I would like to continue providing beautiful high quality reading materials to my students!
