My Project
Many students come to school hungry every day. They leave their homes and come to the safety of our school. Sometimes the amount of food students get for breakfast isn't enough, sometimes students are too late for breakfast. Sometimes they're just hungry. Being able to give them a quick snack to have or to take home is meeting the basic needs of our students. We know as adults that if our basic needs aren't being met it becomes an impossible task to focus on other things in our lives. A hungry student is not learning because he/she is focused on their hunger. By being able to meet some of our students' basic needs will make room for learning and growth. We must meet the needs of the"whole child".
