My Students
I teach in the heart of the Bronx, New York. My students come from all over the Bronx, from many different neighborhoods. They want to learn and are eager to learn. They are excited about their future!
Although growing up in poor and underserved neighborhoods, my students understand the importance of their education.
Many of my students will be the first in their families to attend and graduate college. They will be breaking cycles of poverty for their generations and also helping heir communities.
My Project
Many of my students reside in underserved communities and reside in temporary housing with their families where it is difficult to prepare meals. My students often do not eat breakfast in the morning and we all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day. These snacks will help curb their hunger and help them focus. It is hard to concentrate on an empty stomach.
These snacks will provide my students with just the right amount of food and also serve as a quick energy boost for them to finish out their day in the most productive manner despite their circumstances.
