My Students

My students come from a culturally and ethnically diverse borough of NYC, Queens. My school is identified as a Title I school, and more than half of the student population qualify for free or reduced school lunch. Their families' economic status is primarily low income. In some instances, some of my students provide economic contribution to their family’s household or are raised by single parents. My students are passionate, enthusiastic, and bright in many areas; however, they lack access to essential tools to cater to their talents.

My Project

As students have returned back to school in person, it is a mission of our school to remind our students of the nurturing, supportive, and caring environment a school setting can be. By having items, such as snacks, we remind students that we serve to help and support them grow. Some of my students need a boost of energy to help power them throughout the school day and items such as a snack help power them throughout the day. Your donation will help and touch the lives of our students which houses about 800 students.
