My Project

Teaching children academics and social-emotional skills in today's society makes me feel like I'm an Atlas, with the weight of the world upon my shoulders.

My young students come to me needing structure, engaging lessons, and mental health support but need all of this even more so since surviving the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Power Pens and accompanying math and reading cards are a fun, engaging way for students to independently practice newly learned phonics and calculation skills. While students are using these pens, I am able to meet in small groups with those students who need more direct instruction in reading and math.

The science manipulatives for the human body and the solar system will help support a new Language Arts curriculum that infuses reading and writing instruction with science and social studies. These items help students see what we are learning in a visual and hands-on way.
