My Students

My students come from culturally diverse backgrounds, but one of the many things they have in common are their imaginations and love of stories. My first graders are imaginative, expressive, funny, and have so many stories inside them that they want to share. My students are now learning how to take their creative ideas and to write them into stories for all to read.

My Project

I know that my students will be so excited to have their stories bound into books for all to read. My first graders will be allowed to choose their cover, binding and I will teach them how to bind their stories.

My first graders will SHINE as they sit in the special "Author's Chair" to share their non-fiction stories, small moment stories, how-to- stories and lastly, their realistic fiction stories with the class.

Students will also have the opportunity to place their bound books in our classroom library for all to read.
