My Project

Funding my project will make a significant difference in learning by providing essential resources to foster a love for reading, critical thinking, and collaboration among high school students. Here’s how it will help, along with my goals and what makes my students special:

My students will gain access to a variety of books.

Students will have access to a variety of genres and stories, encouraging them to explore different perspectives and cultures.

Improving literacy skills with engaging books will enhance reading comprehension, vocabulary, and analytical thinking through discussions and activities.

My Library provides a safe space for expression. A book club creates a judgment-free zone where students can share ideas, build confidence, and develop empathy. This can most certainly encourage lifelong reading habits. By fostering enjoyment in reading, students are more likely to continue reading beyond the classroom.

My goal is to support critical thinking by using literature to challenge students to think deeply about themes like identity, justice, and resilience. Build Community and strengthen peer relationships through collaborative discussions and shared experiences in the book club. Preparing my students for the future by equipping them with skills like communication, analysis, and empathy that are essential for success in college and careers.

My students are incredibly special because they are resilient. They navigate challenges with determination and adaptability. They are curios and eager to learn about the world through literature. They most importantly display an enthusiasm for growth. They are passionate about improving themselves and their community.

This project will transform my book club into a powerful tool for learning, growth, and connection while celebrating the unique qualities of my students.

Mrs. Holmes will only receive her materials if this project is fully funded by August 8.
