My Students

I started the year with a hybrid schedule, like most teachers, but now my students are in class full-time. We are socially distanced, wearing masks and doing our best to make this 6th grade year remarkable.

I love my student's positive attitudes and their excitement to learn.

They are brave, curious, hard working, and want to be successful in all that they do. I have students from all different socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicities, nuclear families, and personal circumstances. I have a chatty class this year but I love all their questions and excitement to socialize and learn.

It is my distinct honor to be able to teach 6th grade and help these students become the best people they can be. I am so proud of all my students and I love teaching 6th grade.

My Project

I have seen an increase in anxiety, stress, attention problems, and focus deficits in my students. These problems interfere with a student's ability to focus on academics and really learn how to apply the information that they are receiving.

School is long and hard enough, we need to find better ways to make it comfortable for students.

As a teacher I get a soft rolling chair to help me get through the day - and most of the day I am standing. I feel that our students need more options in the classroom so that they can be comfortable, relaxed, and focused on learning.

Students who have attention problems can usually focus better if they can figit with something. These figit items often cure their need for movement so that their mind can focus on academics. Movement items can also have the same effect for students who are anxious or stressed.

Another benefit of ball seats is that they offer students a variety of seating options. This increases their independence, their ability to regulate themselves, and options so that students can find the best way they need to learn for that day.

Finally ball seats are very good for a student health. They promote proper posture and help strengthen a person's core.

Balance ball seats would be a helpful tool to make my classroom that much better for my students.
