Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

“It’s far better to buy a wonderful company at a fair price than a fair company at a wonderful price.” -Warren Buffett By the end of the school year, I would like my students to learn about personal finance which will include investments, budgeting, savings, and insurance.

The Fairmont Neighborhood School located in the South Bronx is seeking assistance to help at risk students learn the importance of Financial Literacy.

My students are very eager to learn about the fundamentals of saving and investing. Our students will have the opportunity to increase their learning through the use of technology.

My Project

My students will use the printer to keep a hard copy of their portfolio on a daily basis. The printer will also be used to print out lessons and publications to help implement the Stock Market Game. By Participating in this competition, our students will learn how to make investment decisions and understand why long-term savings will help help them with future goal decisions like attending college.

The donations will help our students because they will be able to print lessons that go with each topic.

This program will not only teach them about savings (short or long term), but they will have an understanding of the Stock Exchange. Students will also research companies in their portfolio and write about them. Topics will also include: Difference between a Public and Private Company Identifying Symbols and Interpreting Stock Quotes Parent Company and their Subsidiaries Stocks & Shares
