My Students

"If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn." (I. Estrada) My students spend a good part of their day working in learning stations. During this time, I pull small groups. Pre-K kids are hardwired to be active, and these ball seats will promote learning.

My students are a group of 20 boys and girls from very mixed backgrounds.

They come from families who want the best for their children. Our school is a Title I community school of approximately 650 students. My students are excited about learning and earning "BRAIN WRINKLES" each and every day. They are full of energy and enthusiasm and all possess a really inquisitive nature. They are also a very caring group of children who are compassionate and giving to one another.

My Project

My students will sit on these ball seats during small group time. Kids have different sensory needs in order to learn best. These seats will accommodate all learners and meet their sensory needs. As I engage the children in learning activities, they will be able to move and bounce in their learning space. They will learn to move the way they need to to focus and learn. They will also learn to channel their energy in a positive learning way.

Donations to this project will improve my classroom and change my students' lives by engaging all their senses in the learning process.

Not only will the students be excited about coming to the small group table, they will learn in a way that meets their needs. Teaching and learning will be maximized in my classroom, and the smiles will shine on all the children's faces!
