Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are a diverse group of learners who speak several different languages. Although many come from different countries, we have come together to form an amazing community. My students are a very fun, loving, and very active group of kids. Our school is a high poverty school with 85% of our students who receive free or reduced lunch. Although my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom, they still come to school with smiles on their faces and ready to learn.

My Project

With an increasing emphasis in technology in the classroom, low-income schools are being left behind. Ozobots are the added technology my students need to keep up with their peers. My students will be able to use their critical thinking skills and creativity to retell stories, practice math story problems, or create diagrams to show the life cycle of a butterfly! Ozobots are not just another piece of technology in our classroom. These Ozobots will transform students into critical thinkers and help them to work collaboratively in groups! My students will not only have the time of their lives programming these robots, they'll be learning skills for their future.
