My Students

I teach in an amazing and supportive community. I teach six different class periods with an average of 24 students each. My students consist of those who love math and has always come easily to them and those who struggle through each lesson. My class is an environment where students feel free to make mistakes and learn from them. I want students to discover the beauty of math that keeps this world going and not feel as if it is something they have to do. I would love to be able to offer my students the opportunity to apply math and to learn and understand the importance of it with a hands-on approach.

My Project

I have a classroom full of students, every hour, who need and desire to apply what they learn in the classroom. Math has more meaning when it becomes applicable. Our world is more and more technology driven, that is what our students know, understand, and want to learn about. I would love the opportunity to learn the language of code at Pathfinders Summer Institute to, in turn, bring the knowledge and skills back to my students. My students would be excited to learn how to code and to be able to give more students the opportunity to compete in Botball.
