My kindergarten students enter school each year excited and ready to learn. Our school is a virtual school and many of the entering kindergarteners lack basic literacy knowledge. I am looking for fun and interactive ways to keep their attention and overcome the achievement gap so that all of my students can be successful.
My students enjoy opportunities to have fun while learning and learn information in an exciting atmosphere.
We are always looking for innovative and imaginative ways to present information in this new virtual world that we are living in.
My Project
My students are enrolled in a full-time virtual school. To add excitement and engagement to their daily activities, I want to have Boom cards ready to go with the math and reading topics in our curriculum.
Each card in a Boom deck is self-correcting and it gives immediate feedback to the students about their choices.
Each deck can show the teacher which questions the students are understanding and how long it is taking them to get the correct answer on the card, which gives the teacher a very helpful tool to look at for creating interventions and reteaching different concepts. Knowing that my students understand and can apply certain skills means that we can focus more on the things they need to work on.
I am requesting a variety of materials related to Boom cards so that I can learn how to customize the cards for our class and also be able to purchase premade cards from Teachers Pay Teachers.
