This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am extremely lucky to teach students grade Kindergarten through 2nd grade in a vibrant neighborhood on the south side of Chicago, in an area full of families and people proud of their community.
The students in my music class are natural performers full of spunk and natural talent.
They may come from disadvantaged backgrounds, but nothing is stopping my students from being amazing! Help my awesome little students grow as musician, learners, and performers, you certainly won't regret it!
My Project
These materials will improve the music instruction that I provide my students by enabling us to have a full drum circle. Having a full drum circle will allow my little musicians to practice listening skills, rhythmic skills, percussion technique, community building, and even more!
These drums will be used by all 600 of my music students and will bring even more joy and memorable learning opportunities to my students, and they deserve it!
I can't wait to receive these drums to make some noise and make some music and make some memories. You're generosity will help fuel the creativity of some remarkable little people.
