This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Reading is the core of all elementary school instruction. As a teacher, I take a personal joy in watching kids learn to read and explore the many opportunities that come from literacy. However, many of my students are reluctant readers because it does not come easily to them. Currently, my classroom doesn’t have a large collection of developmentally appropriate books.

Kids are unable to enjoy a book independently because the classroom library is too challenging at this time.

As a result, I would like to have a variety of engaging books will hold their interests and help them make progress in learning to read.
