Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district. Despite the many challenges my students face, they look forward to coming to school where I provide creative and meaningful experiences. My students come in with a smile and excited to know what the daily plans are, which are memorable to them.

As I prepare my first grade students for college and careers, I also remind them that learning can be fun.

My students excel even though the odds are against them with all the challenges they face at home and at school.

My Project

My first grade classroom has been transforming from a standard classroom with students just sitting at their desks, to a room where students are independent as well as working in groups. With this bookstand, my first graders will be able to have a more suitable classroom environment to be successful.

I am requesting a bookstand so that my students have one location they can use resources that will be help produce reports, interact with peers, and refer to as a resource.

Some students sit and work in groups and some like to go off and work independently. This bookstand will allow students to have the resources they need at a set location in the classroom. Independent students need to know where to find the resources needed for classwork and discussions.
