My Students

Kindergarten is an exciting place to be! The children are generally on the cusp of being confident and independent, as they are completely interested in learning and determined! Our neighborhood is lucky to be diverse and international, this adds so much to our school experience as children have great stories to share with their peers. The learning never stops in class, and we are constantly coming up with new ways to make our day more dynamic by putting some fun into our day!

My Project

Favorite storybooks help beginning readers develop their confidence, books are introduced and read daily and then are available during independent reading time. Students learn how to handle books, take turns and retell story elements as they continue to interact with favorite storybooks (books we love). Students also learn to discuss these books with each other.

These books will be available throughout the school year for students to revisit and practice reading.

Having favorite storybooks provides familiar stories for children to read, and provides confidence to our young readers as they know they can always successfully read favorite storybooks and feel proud!
