Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach a big group of ELLs who are amazing and creative! I get the opportunity to support my students directly during a time in their life which is often their first exposure to English. I'd love to foster their love for literature by having many copies of different books that we are reading in class. With extra copies, students can take them home and share the stories with their families every weekend.

Some of the books I chose are bilingual books so students can read and enjoy at home with their families.

It is important to encourage literacy in their home language and the new language.
