Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a teacher in a school that serves a low-income population of English language learners from all over the world. My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom, but I work hard to give them access to the tools necessary for success in the 21st century. Despite the many challenges they face, I expect my students to perform at a high standard as I engage them with meaningful learning experiences using high-interest literature.

Each day, I work to ensure that despite their hardships at home, my students are able to work to their fullest potential and that they are receiving the best educational experiences with me so they can grow.

Alan Bennet stated, "A book is a device to ignite the imagination."

My Project

These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom library will be a place that my students really enjoy because it enables them to read independently! Every book that is placed in my library is treated with love and care. All of these books have been chosen with my students in mind. I have watched former students devour titles just like these in previous years. My students will be able to choose the books they like, which will help them to enjoy independent reading time.

The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading.

Education is changing every single day, and so are the interest of my students.

My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
