My Students

During these unbelievable times, our students are among those being greatly impacted by this pandemic. Children have gone from going to school every day, seeing their friends and their teachers, and being fully emerged in hands-on learning. Now, children are stuck inside their homes, without friends or teachers, with very limited resources.

My students in particular are suffering emotionally, socially, and academically during this crisis.

I have 8 special education students in my class. These 8 students are some of the sweetest kids you could ever meet. They continue to show up online every day and try their hardest despite what is going on at home. My students, whom all have special needs, learn at a slower rate than their peers. Everything is much harder for my students, especially trying to learn through a computer. It is most important to me right now that my students continue to read, as this is a vital skill for surviving as an adult in society.

My Project

My amazing students have been working incredibly hard to complete their assignments through Google Classroom. This has been a new adventure for all of us. We are still learning how to learn through a computer screen. There are so many resources online that provide resources for my students to read. However, we all know there is nothing that compares to holding a book in your hands. Please donate so my students can receive books that will help them explore the world. These books will literally mean to world to children who have very little. Please help me provide them some sunshine during these very confusing times.

With your donations, each one of my students will receive 5 books on their reading level and 1 book that we can read together as a class.
