This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am trying to incorporate more art therapy lessons into my classroom. I love adding that social emotional component to teach students how to regulate their emotions and inner turmoil. I myself am going through the grieving process and suffer from a lot of stress and anxiety and I know the benefits of just taking some time to breathe and be grateful for all of the things that do go right and are good. I like to tap into my own experiences to share with the students that it is okay to stumble.and fall but there are ways to pick yourself back up.

I love to read and find books really helpful and I am hoping that these books will help me become a better teacher, coworker, and overall human.

I hope that some of these journals and workbooks also help the students cultivate healthy practices and a healthy mindset. I love finding new ways to improve. Although my title is teacher, really I am an eternal student.
