My Project

World Mental Health Day is October 10, and these literature circle books will help students have conversations about emotions, wellness, and thriving in these fast-paced times. From Brene Brown's Atlas of the Heart to novels like Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Astonishing Color of After, and We Are All So Good at Smiling, students will use these texts to connect with each other and reflect on their own wellness.

Books offer us windows into the worlds of others, but also into the wilderness of our own hearts.

These books will invite students to consider their own experiences through the lens of characters who struggle with mental health for myriad reasons, and who ultimately triumph with persistence, support, and vital wisdom.

These books give students common stories to connect to and learn more about our inner lives and how to thrive in the midst of struggle. The colorful notebooks and pens bring pocket-sized creativity and mindfulness into our class for the hard days, when the page invites us to pause and reflect without judgment.
