This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember the feeling of opening a brand new book and the excitement you felt as you read each page? Our students share that excitement and joy of opening and reading a brand new book they find in our classroom.

Our students come from various cultural backgrounds where English is their second language.

Many do not have the opportunity to have books in their home on their level. We strive to provide our students with books on their independent reading level about topics they enjoy to foster a love for reading.

Our students are dedicated and eager to learn despite their difficulties navigating the English language. They try their best in the classroom. We are so lucky to have students who persevere even when things become hard. We would be grateful and so appreciative of a classroom library.

My Project

The gift of a classroom library is a gift that will keep on giving for years to come. Our students require a classroom library of leveled books so that all of our students can feel the joy and excitement when reading.

With these new books, our students will be able to foster their love of reading by reading about topics they enjoy on their own independent reading level.

In order to become better readers, it is important to practice reading daily and the best way to do that is with the excitement of new books! Our students are so eager to learn and look forward to exploring new books about topics and stories they will enjoy for years to come.
