This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
New books are always being requested in the library by my students. The books that I have selected currently will help to enhance the print-rich library that I strive to create and to help end this unique school on a good read. I like to think of our school library as a place that my students really enjoy coming to. I find them wanting to read more and more these days and always asking to check out the latest books. Every book that comes into my library is treated with love and care, and my students are thankful for the opportunities to read. All of the books I have chosen are with my students needs in mind. I have watched them the past few months of school read titles just like these, and I have also asked them what type of books they would enjoy reading. My students will be able to choose books, which will help them to continue to enjoy independent reading time.
With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level.
They will also be able to choose books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
