My Students

One word that describes my students is determined. This hardworking group of children stop at nothing! Many of them even attend school 7 days a week in order to stay on top of their studies.

Our wonderful school serves a large immigrant community.

With that being said, most parents have to work long hours in order to provide for their families. This results in students spending longer hours in the school building. Many students consider our school their second home.

My Project

I am a second grade teacher and work with a large population of students who come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Currently, my students do not have access to a proper early childhood library. The leveled library will help them better comprehend what they are reading, build interest and stamina, and complete any reading assignments through productive struggle.

I would love to give my students access to an authentic, leveled library.

I want my students to be exposed to good writing and these books will be the exposure that they need. My boys and girls are such hard workers and definitely deserve this.
