This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students face the challenges of poverty on a daily basis. We are located in the southernmost region of the United States and live in one of the poorest counties in the country. These students, who wake up every morning wanting to learn despite the difficulties that they face at home, are who inspired and motivated me to join this website. I am honored and blessed to serve them and to be part of their lives. This is why reaching out to you is the least I can do to help them improve and be able to reach and experience the same opportunities that others have in our country. My students manage to always have a smile and care for each other as much as possible every single day. Thank you for taking the time to read this short description of my students!

My Project

Students in my classroom have access to books that even though they are great stories they are so old that they are not inviting. Please help me provide a quality and engaging library that will increase their interest in reading. There is no worse feeling than being told that you have to read when there are no interesting choices to pick from. I am confident that this donation will increase their reading motivation and it will help my students achieve academic goals through reading. We must remember that the love of reading starts with only 1 book that triggers our curiosity!
