My Project

The door slam heard around the world and waking one morning to discover you've become a gigantic pest. Both Henrik Ibsen's play, A Doll's House, and Franz Kafka's novella, The Metamorphosis, explore themes of identity, freedom, and the human condition as their protagonists struggle against societal norms and personal constraints.

For this proposal, I am requesting copies of A Doll's House and The Metamorphosis for my high school seniors to read in English class.

With enduring themes relevant to students' lives, these two texts make perfect in-class units of study for seniors about to embark on the real world.

Having their own copies will enable students to make annotations, highlight important passages, and engage more deeply with the texts. These activities will help foster a deeper understanding of these texts' complex themes and ideas.
