Help me give my students items like books and squishy toys for a way to make the literature come alive.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Seybert's classroom raised $284
This project is fully funded
My Project
Eight out of my twelve students are well below grade level in English. Reading is the olive branch to equality. Those that can read can succeed. The Alaska Reads Act was built to ensure students well below have an opportunity to catch up to their peers. These students need to be motivated to spend time in text.
The funds you donate go directly to books based on the individual interest of each of my twelve students.
Some of these books will be sent home with the child. Others will be used to help build our library. By sending every child home with a book it ensures that these kids have access to reading material. It reinforces the message that we as teachers want our classroom to read. It also reinforces that we care about the child as an individual because the story chosen for them was based on their personality.
My current classroom has second hand books that were donated. None of my books in the library are new. Help me help these kids catch up to their peers. Help me help them to fall back in love with reading.
