Every day my students walk into class eager to learn and take on the day's tasks that are handed to them. I teach at a Title I school where I have a class of 20 students who all have different academic needs. We learn from using hands-on items, reading a plethora of books, and enjoying one another conversations.
My students enjoy things from hands-on activities to sitting back and reading a great book!
We spend the majority of our day in our classroom. As a third year teacher, I have found that my students need a variety of learning materials throughout the day to reach their highest potential.
My Project
My students really enjoy grabbing a book from the library and sitting back to relax! I worked all summer organizing and arranging books, but I always seem to not have enough for my students. These books that I have listed are very popular in my classroom! They love reading graphic novels, learning about "Who Was and What Was", and looking at the pictures with great conversations involved.
I hope to instill in my students how much fun reading is!
I always discuss how much reading for simply 20 minutes a day will help them tremendously! We started reading and discussing theme from picture books in my room! The students love to huddle up on the reading rug and listen to my read a story to them for discussion! My library is growing, but it never outgrows us!
