My Project

I am reaching out to ask for your support in expanding the diversity of my classroom library to better serve my students, many of whom have recently crossed the border and speak primarily Spanish. For these students, books are more than just a way to learn—they are a lifeline, offering them a chance to escape from the challenges they face daily and find comfort in new worlds. However, the lack of Spanish-language books in my classroom means that many of these students are not able to fully engage in the stories that could help them heal, grow, and feel seen. By donating to my project, you can help ensure that these young learners have access to the same opportunities for enrichment, imagination, and literacy as their peers.

Having books in Spanish will not only give my students the opportunity to maintain and grow their cultural and linguistic identities, but also help them feel valued and respected in their new environment.

As they navigate the complexities of adapting to a new country, a new language, and a new school, providing them with books in their native language will create a safe space for them to explore, relax, and dream beyond the difficulties of their reality. With your support, we can give these students the tools they need to succeed academically and emotionally, while also fostering a love of reading that will last a lifetime. Your donation can truly make a difference in their lives.
