My Project

The books included int his project directly align with 5th grade standards and with help increase student engagement. Even in 5th grade, students love to be read to. They have a thirst for knowledge!

Picture books help to build background knowledge and enhance student learning.

Each book can be used as a mentor text for writing or grammar. The books are also used to develop an understanding of reading skills, social studies curriculum, or science concepts.

In addition to using to books as a teaching tool, the students also enjoy reading them during silent reading. They love exploring the different topics throughout the picture books and will share what they learn with friends.
