This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are sweet, welcoming, kind, and caring. They are always willing to help each other as much as possible and love to celebrate each other’s achievements and differences.
99% of my students are English language learners, 100% of my students are considered at risk due to their low socioeconomic status.
My classroom is a diverse environment where every culture is celebrated, loved, and respected.
During this pandemic, I’ve had a lot of time to reflect on my teaching and the things that would help my students become better learners in the classroom and during distance learning. I would love for my students to have the opportunity to have books that celebrate different cultures.
My Project
My students are all diverse learners from different cultures and nationalities. We are currently facing many issues in the world race being one of them. It is so important for me to be able to bring awareness into my classroom about the importance of having respect for other cultures and to love and celebrate their own cultures and the cultures of their classmates.
Having these books in my classroom would help open minds and hearts.
My students have a good understanding of family values and I want to combine these values and bring awareness and spread kindness in our classroom.
