Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a Title I school, and I have 21 bilingual Pre-K students that love to come to school every day. Most of my students are low income and they receive free or reduce school lunch. They have suffered the Harvey devastation and some of them are still recovering from all of their losses.

My students are curious and self-motivated and always ready to learn.

Now that their first year of elementary is coming to an end. I want to get my students ready for the next school year, also, I want to give them better literacy books and this way I will have a greater variety of books for the upcoming school year and students.

My Project

As a pre-k teacher, I read to my students at least 2 times per day. Reading to my students helps them in numerous things, such as, increasing their vocabulary, improving listening skills, it can also create a lifetime love for literature, and many more benefits for my young students.

The donations to this project will help my students to learn from different genres of books, which as a result will increase their vocabulary and their imagination.

My students love the read aloud books, they also love to act them out or to retell the story to their peers. I like to see how much they enjoy retelling the stories and changing the ending of the books.
