My Project

At our high school, we have high expectations for all students and push them all to reach their full potential, and then some.

But, when you are given a book beyond your reading level, it can be extremely frustrating and cause students to lose motivation and never gain a love of reading.

My goal is to give these students books they can access, and enjoy, and give them that love of reading that they deserve. The books I have chosen are of high-interest for older students but have lower reading levels so they can read independently and feel successful. This feeling of success will motivate students to keep reading, and improve their reading skills, which will lead to endless possibilities! My inner-city students have enough barriers already. I don't want reading to be another one. I appreciate any help you can provide.
