Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My students who attend speech therapy are a hard-working group of individuals with mixed interests, abilities, goals, and aspirations. They show up eager to learn and ready to work hard every single day!
My students are a diverse group with a wide range of ages and abilities.
Despite their disabilities, they willingly accept and overcome challenges.
My Project
As a speech therapist, I love to use children's books with my students to provide literacy-based language intervention.
Books are a great way to expand vocabulary, help students practice certain sounds, and work on language skills such as answering wh- questions, describing, identifying characters, main idea, problem, solution, etc.
The possibilities are endless!
As a second year speech therapist, I inherited a few old books and had a hard time engaging the students with them. During virtual learning last year, I used virtual books to provide intervention. Now that we are back in class, I am in need of hard-copy books to get my students excited about reading and practicing language skills.
