My Project

Our book vending machine is starting to get some empty shelves. We are looking to get books that will be wanted by our older students. A popular series is the "I Survived" series. Another popular series is the Press Start books. These books do not last long when they are in the book vending machine.

When students save their ROAR tickets to purchase a book from the book vending machine, they can purchase a token to then choose any book they want.

Allowing children to get books from a series, will make them want to come back for more. We are also going to try to add a few journals and sketch journals to see if there is any interest in those as well. Many students may want to write and illustrate their own book using these journals.

Students earn tokens for the book vending machine by showing ROAR expectations. These may be things such as cleaning our school campus, helping a friend, being on task, etc. Many of the ways students can earn tickets help make our school community stronger. By saving their tickets, they can earn a token to earn a free book.
