My Project

For this project, I am requesting class sets of three books to use for whole class novel studies. The titles are Stuart Little, Sarah Plain and Tall, and Matilda.

Novel studies can have many benefits for students, including:

Building community: Studying literature as a class can help students connect with each other.

Improving reading skills: Novel studies can help students develop their vocabulary, decoding skills, fluency, and comprehension. They can also help students build stamina and analyze complex texts.

Exposing students to new experiences: Students can learn about different emotions, environments, and perspectives, which can help them develop compassion and background knowledge.

Developing writing skills: Students can learn about the author's craft and improve their sentence patterns.

Introducing new genres: Novel studies can help students discover new genres of literature.

I hope that exploring these stories together will help my students with all of these important skills!
