I am a new-to-Kindergarten teacher and I would love to give my students stories they will love. As a teacher, my favorite part of my day is reading books aloud to my students. I love introducing my students to characters they can laugh with and learn from.
I am hopeful that the books I have included in this list will give my students joy and will instill the beginning of a love for reading and listening to stories.
I also understand that some (or all!) of my students coming to school for the first time might have some big feelings, miss their families, and not feel comfortable for the first couple of days of school. With the help of some of these books and characters, I hope that I can help ease some of the stress of being in school and show my students how amazing school can be!
