This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many of my students are coming from the remote parts of Brazil, Haiti, Asia, and Central America. The majority of them are coming from farmers' families and have had limited education, resources, and access to education. I would love for my students to have an opportunity to develop a love for reading and explore their cultural background through reading books in their native languages. It is a known fact that developing your own native language skills helps you in learning a new language.

I hope that reading books in their native language will help my students to expand their knowledge and vocabulary and improve their literacy skills.

I would love to create a small library that would have books in Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, and Vietnamese
