Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every student is unique and comes into the classroom with their own stories. They all have their strengths and their own set of challenges that makes learning at times difficult. But every student in my class has one thing in common: a love for reading.

My students come from a range of demographic backgrounds even though they all live in the same city and go to the same school.

I have students who have ADHD, experienced severe trauma, lost loved ones, and much more. However, all of my students are capable of learning anything they set their minds too, with the right supports from myself and our school. It's my job to help prepare my students to be successful, well-rounded, caring adults.

And what better way to do that than to teach through stories!

My Project

Books are great resources to teach many different types of daily life lessons. Items in this project include a rug, two comfy chairs and lots of books! I picked these items because they would be a great starting point to create an amazing classroom library where my students can find a book that they can connect to!

All of these books focus on themes like friendship, mindfulness, identity, diversity, loss and so much more.

I could use these books to teach whole lessons or students could read them on their own. These materials can make a difference in my students' life in a meaningful way! So please consider supporting my project. Thank you.
