My Students

My students are incredible. They love writing and exploring different types of stories. Whether they are writing science fiction, fantasy, or just about their own life. Some students love poetry while others just like to simply write. Most importantly, they are still trying to find themselves.

My students are in that phase of life where they are still exploring the world around them and learning about who they are.

They come from a wide variety of backgrounds. My classes are made up of students from all socioeconomic classes. I have students who come from well-to-do families and others who come from low-income homes. Most of my students speak English as a first language, while just over five percent speak English as a second language or don't speak it at all.

My Project

This project is designed to help my students have access to books that are either in high demand or are not available in my or our school library. They will be lent out so students can take them home and read at their own pace in their own place. These books were requested by the students based on titles they like and authors they want to read.

My classroom library needs a serious injection of books that students want to read.

Most of the books I have I've purchased second-hand. This would help the kids have new books.
