This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a long-time reading teacher, I always need new books for my classroom library. Students' taste in literature is constantly evolving with each passing year, so it's always important to make sure our classroom libraries are up-to-date with current, high-interest books students enjoy reading.

It's always a struggle to get some students to read for enjoyment, but I've always believed the reason they don't read isn't because they don't like books, it's because they just haven't found the right books for them.

So I try to get books about a wide range of topics and genres so that even the most reluctant readers can find something that interests them. My hope is that they'll find a book in my classroom library that sparks a life-long love of reading.
