This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are deep thinkers who apply themselves in every lesson. They give their best in every assignment, and truly produce quality work. They are engaged in each lesson, and enjoy coming to school every day. They are charismatic, and love cultural experiences such as music and art. This group of open-minded students displays such a beautiful harmony in working together. I am truly blessed to have such an amazing group of students. They deserve everything that I am hoping to supply them with.

My Project

This project will allow my students the opportunity to experience and form socratic circles to discuss their interpretations from these novels. They will be able to practice speaking and listening skills while discussing symbolism, point of view, and the various characteristics of novels.

These high-interest novels will make a huge impact on my students by allowing them to make connections, think critically, and practice AVID skills that will help them succeed in college.

I have a class full of high level readers, and I want to supply them with books that are challenging but still interesting. These students will be able to experience, for the first time, how to really dig deeply into a novel.
