Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
One student doesn't seem like much, but one student matters. This student has two favorite activities...playing with her younger sister and reading. At school, she is a voracious reader who chews through books like no tomorrow; however, since the COVID-19 pandemic began, she doesn't have access to books.
My Project
Some students hate reading, others like it, and for others, it is a deep passion. These students depend on the school library to feed their hungry minds. One problem, currently, I have a student who has read every book in her house and has no way of accessing more. For her, books are like air filling her with life, escape, and freedom. You may think, that the library is a place to get books. Usually, you would be correct, but for this young lady, a library is a limited option. They have no way of getting to the library as their only vehicle is utilized by her father to get to and from work.
There is something magical when a book is yours to keep.
The smell and excitement are not quite the same from a library or borrowed from a friend. I believe that by helping to grow this young lady's library, that she will continue to grow in her academic skills as well as her English Language Skills. She has a younger sister that I know she reads too, so these books would serve the entire family.
Please help me to give this young lady the library that she has always dreamed of having in her house.
