My Students

My students go to school in a low, socio-economic, high poverty area. They are constantly facing many challenges both in school and at home. Despite the circumstances my students face, they are always ready and eager to learn.

My goal with these projects is to provide my students with opportunities and materials that they might not otherwise get.

The materials that are purchased through DonorsChoose is a huge help to my classroom and to my students.

My Project

Black History Month happens every February. However, teaching and reading about Black History should not only occur during February. It should be year round because it is HISTORY. The majority of the students in my classroom, and in my school, are African American. By having these books in the classroom for them to read and learn from, my students will be able to have a better picture of their lives and their history.

The books purchased from this project will provide my students with 24 books that show why they should be proud of their heritage.

My students and I thank you all so much for your donation.
