Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Third-grader (Noun)

\ˈthərd grā-dər\

- Someone who is a mathematician, reader, writer, artist, scientist, dancer, leader, explorer, and friend.

- Someone who NEEDS a computer in school.

My third graders are curious and they try hard...really hard. They love to read, write, explore, and find answers to questions.

Did you know that they are also BILINGUAL, bicultural, and biliterate? They speak, read, and write in two languages (English and Spanish). That also means that during the school day, they learn in both languages.

My Project

Putting high-quality Spanish books in the hands of my students is at the heart of this project. Did you know that READING teaches children about the world around them, improves vocabulary and language skills, and helps children develop empathy?

The books requested include biographies, science, math and technology.

These books will allow my students to learn about topics that interest them and practice their research skills as well. My third graders will be able to read these books at school and also take them home. The more high-interest books my students have access to, the more they will read.
