This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are in grades 3-6 and they absolutely love to draw! Of course they look forward to completing projects and creating new things, but what they love the most about coming to art class is Free Draw! Free Draw is a table that I have set up in my classroom that allows my students who finish something early to draw whatever they want. They have the option to draw from their imagination or from a book or worksheet that I provide.

Drawing enhances creativity, increases confidence, and reduces stress.

My students would be thrilled to have the appropriate materials to successfully draw their favorite character, practice facial features, and to simply practice sketching. Over the years the books that I had, have been used to the point they are falling apart. I have resorted to printing things for them to look at and draw. Having a new collection of books will be the best addition to my classroom!
